Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Full Review: Powerful Engine, Features and On-Road Price

Hello Bhai — Hope you’re doing well. Today I want to share my thoughts on the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 — I try to write in simple, everyday English so that it feels like a regular chat between two car-lovers.

Let’s talk about why Land Cruiser 300 feels special, and if you are from our town (like me), how much it might cost roughly.

What is Toyota Land Cruiser 300

Land Cruiser 300 is a big SUV by Toyota, built to offer both luxury and serious off-road strength. According to Toyota’s India site, it’s meant for people who want power, comfort and reliability — a car that shines whether you drive on smooth city roads or rough rural tracks.

From a normal guy’s point of view: it’s like a “go-anywhere” vehicle. Be it long highway trips, monsoon-season roads, or bumpy village paths — this SUV doesn’t panic.

Engine, Power and Performance

Brother, do you know it’s very special under the hood? Toyota Land Cruiser 300 comes with a 3346 cc V6 twin-turbo diesel engine, giving about 304 bhp of power and 700 Nm of torque (between 1600–2600 rpm).

This means when you press the accelerator — even from low speed — the car pulls strongly. On highways or hilly roads, the torque helps to climb easily and handle heavy load or luggage without a struggle. It also gets a 10-speed automatic gearbox and 4WD (four-wheel drive) — so off-road or muddy roads won’t trouble much.

Now, from my own point of view: If I lived where roads are not always smooth (like many parts near us), this car gives confidence. You feel strong and safe. It’s not just a showpiece; it’s a practical monster for real-life Indian roads.

Comfort, Space and Features

Friend, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 doesn’t just offer power, but comfort and luxury are also there. It’s a 5-seater SUV with good space, and an interior built to feel premium.

Some features: Automatic climate control, comfortable seats, 4WD, good suspension for rough roads. In city rides or long journeys — whether with family or friends — you’ll feel comfortable. For people like us who sometimes drive on rough roads or long distances, this is a big plus.

One more thing: its build quality is very strong — feels like a “tank on wheels”. That toughness gives peace of mind if roads are bumpy or monsoon rains make streets muddy.

Price — And What It Means for Us

Now, about price: In India, the Land Cruiser 300 comes in two main variants: ZX (base) and GR-S (top/sporty model).

  • Ex-showroom price for ZX starts around ₹ 2.16 Crore.
  • Ex-showroom price for GR-S goes up to about ₹ 2.25 Crore.
  • On-road price (with taxes, RTO, insurance, etc.) will be higher. For big cities, it can go around ₹ 2.55–2.66 Crore.

If we think in terms of our town (somewhere in Jharkhand), on-road might vary a bit, but expect roughly similar ballpark — maybe slightly different depending on RTO/transport cost.

So practically: This is not a small car — it’s for people who really want power, comfort, and are ready to pay for premium quality.

Why It Feels Special — My View

Let me tell you why I feel the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 stands out (and maybe you will agree):

  • It’s strong and reliable even on worst roads. For many of us, road conditions can get rough — this car handles them without complaining.
  • It’s spacious and comfortable — good for long family trips or when travelling with lots of luggage.
  • The power and torque give confidence: overtaking on highway, going uphill, carrying heavy load — all manageable.
  • It’s versatile: good for both city and countryside; for comfortable travel and for rugged terrain.
  • It gives peace of mind — with good build, 4WD, nice suspension — you feel safe even in tough conditions.

If I were to buy a car for life — something that works for city drives, long trips, monsoon roads, and occasional countryside travel — this would be a strong contender.

Some Real-Life Example

Suppose you live near our area, and one day you want to go for a trip to some hills, or rural village with unpaved roads. With a normal car, bumpy ride or getting stuck is likely. But with Land Cruiser 300: you enjoy comfortable drive, no worry about rough roads — strong engine and 4WD ensures smooth ride.

Or imagine monsoon season: potholes, muddy roads are common. Many cars struggle. But this SUV — its suspension and build — will handle it much better.

If you travel long distances — say to hometown or another city — you and your family will feel comfortable inside. No cramped space, good ride comfort.

Few Things to Think About

Of course — nothing is perfect. With such a powerful engine and big size: fuel average may not be very high. Official mileage is around 11 km/l (diesel).

Also, cost of fuel, maintenance, insurance will be more than a regular small car. You need to be ready for that if you buy.

And for daily city traffic — big size can be a challenge (parking, narrow streets). But if you accept these trade-offs, you get a very capable vehicle.

Conclusion — Who Should Buy It

If you are someone who values: comfort, power, long-term reliability, wants to travel in style and doesn’t have to worry much about cost — then Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is a great choice.

If you mostly drive small distances in city, with tight budget and fuel cost matters — then maybe this is too much.

But for people who travel often, long distances, sometimes tough roads or countryside — this SUV can give lifetime value.

For me personally, I think, if I were buying for long term (family, trips, tough roads), I would choose Land Cruiser 300. It’s more than just a car — it feels like a companion for life.
